Job Description

Business Technology Integrators (BTI), headquartered in Upper Marlboro, MD, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology division and drive our company's strategic technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of emerging technologies, managed services, cloud computing, and Microsoft solutions, coupled with strong leadership and business acumen.

As the CTO, you will be responsible for aligning our technology strategy with our business goals, overseeing the IT infrastructure, and driving innovation to ensure our company remains at the forefront of the industry. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our IT systems, with a strong emphasis on Zero Trust architecture. You will also serve as the principal solutions strategist for proposal efforts. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
    • Identify and leverage emerging technologies to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experiences.
    • Lead the technology vision for the company, ensuring that all technological resources are aligned with the company's business needs.
  2. Technology Management:
    • Oversee the company's technology platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
    • Manage the IT department, including hiring, training, and mentoring a high-performing team.
    • Ensure the effective management of IT budgets, optimizing costs while delivering high-quality technology solutions.
  3. Cloud Computing & Managed Services:
    • Lead the adoption and integration of cloud computing solutions, with a focus on Microsoft platforms and services.
    • Oversee managed services and ensure they meet the company's standards for performance and reliability.
  4. Security & Compliance:
    • Develop and enforce a robust IT security strategy, with a strong focus on Zero Trust principles.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including data protection and privacy laws.
  5. Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with other executives to ensure that technology initiatives support the company's overall strategy.
    • Communicate technology strategy to partners, stakeholders, and employees, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the organization.
  6. Project Management:
    • Oversee IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Apply project management best practices, and leverage PMP methodologies where appropriate, to drive project success.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years as a Federal Government IT Solutions Architect, with at least 5 years in a CTO or equivalent leadership role.
    • Proven experience in leading technology teams and managing large-scale IT projects.
    • Demonstrated expertise in emerging technologies, cloud computing, managed services, and Microsoft platforms.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or an MBA with a minor in IT.
  • Certifications:
    • PMP certification is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of cloud computing and Office 365.
    • Expertise in Zero Trust security architecture and other modern cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Leadership & Management Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking:
    • Ability to think strategically and solve complex business problems through innovative technology solutions.
    • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
