Position Nail Technician

Reporting Relationship Esthetician Director

FLSA Status Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

Providing high-quality manicures and pedicures. Welcomes and greets clients. Build and maintain relationships with clients. Be a provider on excellent customer service. Be a team member and take notes about our nail treatments and procedures. Continue to develop and hone skills as a salesperson, nail-tech, and customer service provider. Skill levels and customer service are important, as customer reviews can greatly determine success.

Core Responsibilities :

• Provide World Class manicures and pedicures, which include removing old nail polish from fingernails and toenails, cleaning nails, shaping the ends of nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying new polish based on clients’ preferences
• Evaluate the condition of clients’ nails and advise them on proper nail care and suitable nail care treatment
• Sanitize all nail instruments and equipment before each use
• Ensure workstations are kept clean and orderly
• Ensure nail and massage supplies are adequately stocked
• Provide World Class hand and foot massages
• Make recommendations for future treatments and pre-book future appointments
• Inform clients about additional services and specials in all departments, holiday gifts, packages, and anything that might correspond to their needs
• Keep personal relationships to a minimum with the clients to focus on treatment
• Self-promote and market yourself
• Complete all services within the standard time frames
• Continue to improve your techniques by reading, experiencing, training, and watching.
• Research past experiences your guest has had so that you may better serve them
• Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions
• Promote a positive atmosphere and come to work with a smile
• Help fellow team members out by teaching them what you know
• Immediately report guest belongings that have been left behind
• Assist with laundry
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• Certification in Cosmetology or Nail Art
• Proven work experience as a Nail Technician, Manicurist, or similar role
• Knowledge of cosmetology trends
• Understanding of sanitation and sterilization standards
• High work ethic, detail-oriented, patient, excellent hand-eye coordination, and self-initiative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a talent for making people feel comfortable and better about themselves
• Strong time management abilities and exceptional customer service skills
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
• Regular attendance according to established guidelines
• Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and always maintain staff and guest confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

• Thoroughly and efficiently perform services to clients
• Sit, stand, bend, stoop, squat, and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time
• Lift approximately thirty (30) pounds of equipment or supplies, using safe lifting techniques
