Position Title: Natural Gas Turbine Plant Construction Manager Location: Houston, TX FLSA Class: EXEMPT Responsible to: Sr. Director of Infrastructure Development Position Summary : We are looking for an experienced Natural Gas Turbine Plant Construction Manager to lead the construction and execution of power generation facilities ranging in size from 200 MW to 1,000 MW, with individual generator capacities between 20 MW and 40 MW. The ideal candidate will have expertise in 13.8 kV electrical systems, balance of plant (BOP), civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, as well as system installation and design for exhaust aftertreatment systems and natural gas process and supply. Additionally, experience in project scheduling, contract negotiation, budgeting, and cost control is essential for this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the construction and execution of natural gas turbine-based power plants (ranging from 200 MW to 1,000 MW, with generator sizes between 20 MW and 40 MW). Manage the installation and commissioning of 13.8 kV electrical systems, balance of plant (BOP), and associated infrastructure. Oversee civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices. Provide technical oversight for exhaust aftertreatment system design and installation, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. Manage the installation and integration of natural gas process and supply systems, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring on-time completion of milestones. Lead contract negotiations with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to optimize cost and performance. Manage project budgeting and cost control, ensuring projects remain within financial targets. Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and key stakeholders to resolve technical and construction challenges. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the construction process. Provide leadership in quality assurance and control to maintain high standards in plant construction. Prepare and present progress reports, risk assessments, and status updates to senior management. Other Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). 10+ years of experience in power plant construction, with a focus on natural gas turbine technology (Solar, Siemens, or equivalent). Experience managing power plants ranging from 200 MW to 1,000 MW, with generator sizes between 20 MW and 40 MW. Strong expertise in 13.8 kV electrical systems, balance of plant, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction. Proven experience in system installation and design for exhaust aftertreatment systems and natural gas process and supply. Expertise in project scheduling, contract negotiation, budgeting, and cost control. Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and best practices for power plant construction. Experience managing large-scale industrial or power projects, including contractor and vendor oversight. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Experience in distributed energy resources (DER), microgrids, or hybrid power systems. Knowledge of NERC, FERC, and ISO regulations related to power generation. PMP or equivalent project management certification.
