Job Summary
This position is a temporary unclassified and anticipated to end: June 2028
This position is responsible for leading the development of new MPCA Grants under the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant.
This position exists to:
Coordinates targeted, environmentally beneficial grants to reduce hydrofluorocarbon-based refrigerants and assist Minnesota small businesses in transitioning to next generation refrigeration systems
Awards federal Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) funding and document and report reductions in greenhouse gases
Designs and develops new financial assistance initiatives to prioritize financial assistance to Environmental Justice areas and to address emerging Hydroflorocarbon (HFC) priorities, including reducing Greenhouse Gases (GHGs)
Manages grant agreements and processes invoices. Proposes and tracks annual CPRG refrigerant budget
Contribute technical expertise throughout the grantmaking process
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
This position is a temporary unclassified position and is anticipated to end: June 2028
Two (2) years of professional contract and or grant development experience;
OR
Three (3) years of contract and or grant development at the para-professional level.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely-related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience;
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to be highly organized, determine priorities, balance a variety of duties at the same time and work under time pressure.
Excellent human relations skills in order to maintain effective working relationships with management, colleagues, and grant applicants.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, preferably including refrigerants or climate change.
Experience engaging with private businesses, non-profits, industry associations, and trade groups on technical environmental topics.
Demonstrated experience understanding and conveying technical information, with the ability to develop grant criteria, evaluate projects, and provide guidance to others.
Knowledge of procedures regarding contract development and administration.
Experience developing recordkeeping and reporting systems to track project progress, budgets, and/or greenhouse gas emissions.
Experience working in environmental protection, climate change mitigation, or with refrigeration systems.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as file folders, ledgers, and small equipment. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
Additional Requirements
Position duties may require travel but driving is not a minimum qualification or essential function of this position. Employees who may drive for state business will need their driver's license checked prior to operating a state vehicle.
