Position Overview

Flow is seeking highly experienced and highly dedicated Senior UI/UX Designer Interns to join our world-class design organization. This role is ideal for experienced creatives and technically expert designers who are ready to apply their experience in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and high-impact environment. As a Senior UI/UX Designer Intern, you will be responsible for crafting intuitive, engaging, and visually compelling digital experiences across all design mediums, including Flow's AI solutions and the Flow custom corporate website, taking on the design challenge of translating complex artificial intelligence requirements and capabilities into flawless user interactions. This position requires a strong sense of design aesthetics, and also the ability to apply conceptual thinking, creative thinking, design thinking, prototyping, and collaboration skills to create exceptional user experiences across all aspects of Flow's product ecosystem and public-facing web assets.

In this role, you will be deeply involved in end-to-end design processes , from conceptual thinking and ideation, to execution and iterative refinement based on user feedback and testing. You will have the opportunity to create high-fidelity interactive prototypes in Figma, incorporating motion graphics and micro-interactions that bring interfaces to life and enhance user engagement. This position also calls for deep experience of responsive design, accessibility standards, and user-centered design principles, ensuring that our product is visually appealing, functional, and accessible across a variety of devices and user scenarios. As a Senior UI/UX Designer Intern, you will collaborate with cross-functional Scrum teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to bring innovative ideas to fruition and deliver a cohesive, world-class final product.

Candidates for this role should be deeply experienced with design tools such as Figma and have a proven track record of creating both static and interactive design assets that align with business goals and user needs. A strong grasp of information architecture, page flows, user flows, visual hierarchy, and typography will be essential, as well as the ability to communicate design decisions effectively and work iteratively with fellow engineers, designers, and stakeholders to refine solutions. You will also be expected to stay abreast of the latest design trends and technologies, continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in design, and seeking new ways to elevate the user experience across the whole entire company.

This position is ideal for candidates who are new graduates or have recently obtained a MFA in User Experience Design or a related field , with extensive experience in Figma and UI/UX Design and who are eager to contribute meaningfully to cutting-edge AI solutions, and gain hands-on experience in the SaaS and AI industries. The internship is remote-only and requires a commitment of at least 40 hours per week. As a Senior UI/UX Designer Intern, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Flow's AI solutions, and public customer-facing web assets, helping to drive user engagement and satisfaction while expanding your experience in a world-class professional industry design environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptual Thinking & Design Thinking:
    • Utilize your strong conceptual thinking skills to create innovative design solutions that meet business objectives and user needs.
    • Engage in design thinking processes to brainstorm and develop creative ideas that enhance user experience and interface designs.
  • Interactive Motion Graphics & Animation:
    • Create engaging interactive motion graphics and animations that enhance the user experience and make interfaces more dynamic.
    • Design and implement micro-interactions that provide intuitive feedback to users and improve overall usability.
  • UI/UX Design & Prototyping:
    • Design and develop user interfaces that are both visually appealing and highly functional.
    • Create clickable prototypes using Figma to demonstrate design concepts and user flows.
    • Conduct user research and testing to gather insights and iterate on designs for continuous improvement.
  • Micro-Interactions:
    • Develop and prototype micro-interactions that provide feedback, guide users, and enrich the overall user experience.
    • Ensure that micro-interactions are consistent with the brand and contribute to a cohesive user experience.
  • Clickable Prototyping:
    • Create clickable prototypes using Figma or other tools to simulate user interactions and gather feedback.
    • Work closely with stakeholders to iterate on designs based on testing and user feedback.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and other designers to ensure a cohesive and effective design process.
    • Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to optimize designs.
  • Innovation & Creativity:
    • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve your skills and bring fresh ideas to the table.
    • Push the boundaries of traditional UI/UX design by experimenting with new approaches and techniques.

Qualifications

  • Education: MFA in User Experience Design or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert with Figma for UI/UX design, prototyping, and collaboration.
    • Experience with creating interactive motion graphics, animations, and micro-interactions.
    • Ability to develop clickable prototypes that effectively and accurately communicates design ideas and user flows.
    • Strong understanding of design thinking and conceptual thinking processes.
    • Strong attention to detail.
  • Design Portfolio: An impressive portfolio showcasing your UI/UX design work, including examples of motion graphics, animation, and prototypes.
  • Remote Work: Must be able to work remotely and dedicate a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Time Commitment:
    • MUST BE ABLE TO DEDICATE AT LEAST 40 HOURS PER WEEK TO THIS POSITION.
    • MUST BE ABLE TO STAY AT THE COMPANY FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS.
