Job Description Job Description Staff Accountant - Educational Nonprofit Position: Full-time, Direct HireLocation: Yonkers, NY (in-person)Salary: $65,000-$80,000 based on experience About the Role Join our client, an educational nonprofit, finance team as a Staff Accountant working at our Yonkers headquarters. You'll play a vital role in maintaining financial operations while supporting our educational mission through sound fiscal management. Key Responsibilities Manage accounts payable, credit card recordkeeping, and digital vendor files Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing and annual 1099 preparation Support budget development and track financial performance Prepare financial statements and reports Coordinate with external auditors Develop grant budgets and monitor restricted/unrestricted funds Maintain compliance with financial regulations and internal controls What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or related field At least 3 years accounting experience (nonprofit sector preferred) Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) Strong QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel skills Understanding of HR and payroll regulations Passion for nonprofit educational mission Ideal Candidates Also Have Accounting degree with 3-5 years nonprofit bookkeeping experience QuickBooks Desktop/Enterprise proficiency Understanding of Functional Expenses Benefits Package Comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance Retirement plan with employer matching FSA and commuter benefits Life insurance and EAP On-site gym access Partial cell phone reimbursement Professional development opportunities Join our team to make a financial impact that supports educational advancement! #zr
